MARGIN LONDON x IFF TOKYO EXCHANGE PROGRAMME RESULTS

Margin is pleased to announce the results of the exchange programme with International Fashion Fair Tokyo +

Organised by leading Japanese fashion industry publisher Senken Shimbun, the International Fashion Fair (IFF) is one of the largest fashion trade exhibitions in Japan.

British brands Vacant and Reveller Clothing Co who are exhibiting at Margin London in February 2008 have been selected by the IFF committee to exhibit free of charge at the IFF Tokyo show in the directional hall called "Terroir" for international brands +

By return Japanese labels Cyrhyme and Toumei-Manila have been selected by Margin to exhibit their unique ranges of reworked menswear and directional womenswear respectively in the 101 area for new labels at Margin London.

Below are previews of all four labels taking part in the exchange programme with details of where they will be exhibiting at both Margin London and IFF / Terroir Tokyo.

Senken Shimbun have regularly visited to report on Margin since the shows started in 2002 and selected Margin as the only UK event to take part in the exchange programme based on the directional offering of labels.

Margin London takes place on the
10th 11th & 12th February 2008 with the
IFF Tokyo / Terroir exhibition taking place from the

VACANT
AT MARGIN LONDON

2008, Brighton label Vacant, along with their sister
label Pretty Vacant, were selected by Terroir to bring
their music influenced range to Tokyo in January 08.

Initially inspired by the Sex Pistols, Vacant adopted
the Rat as their logo to represent the urban aspect of
their range of mens and womens tops and knitwear.
Vacant is proud to boast that the design and production
of the garments are of UK origin, working closely with
UK manufacturing to ensure the label remains
  resolutely cool Britannia.

Vacant has a vintage-style range of Dennis the
Menace garments under license from The Beano and
has newly added a range of Bazooka Joe clothing.

To sustain their environmental and humanitarian
beliefs, Reveller Clothing only sources from Fairwear
  Foundation audited manufacturers, uses Organic
Cotton, and works with their screenprinter to ensure
that all garments are only printed with inks that are
Phthalates- and PVC-free. Reveller Clothing also put
their money where their mouth is by donating part of
their turnover to humanitarian and environmental
  charities.
Reveller will be making their debut in London at
Margin on the cusp of The Tee Room and TraidFare
areas, and in Tokyo at the IFF show in Terroir.

  UPSCALE STREETWEAR & DIRECTIONAL TAILORING

+++ Margin is a curated event where Buyers, Editors, and Stylists know
they can find great new labels season after season and don't have to
wade through hall after hall of established brands to find directional
new products to offer their readers or shoppers.

+++ Spaces are limited to appropriate brands only that have a
directional edge and something new to offer.

+++ Margin consistently welcomes key buyers from directional stores and
editors from cutting-edge titles keen to keep a step ahead of the
  competition
and who know Margin is the prime location to discover
new brands + at larger events where mainstream brands take centre-stage
and priority, new labels can often be an opportunity missed.

+++ The Original and the best platform for new talent for over 6 years,
Margin was established to help new labels reach a wider buying and
press audience. Margin was created out of necessity. Retailers and Editors
travel the world looking for the next big thing but are never going to
find it at a show whose costs prohibit fresh talent. The main drive of
Margin was to establish a show where new young labels could find an
  affordable and successful platform.
