  CRAIG NATIVE OF SOUTH AFRICA
  August 07
|
|
|
Raised in the ghettos of South Africa at the height of
apartheid, Craig Native has been on a complex
journey that inspires the collections of NATIVE.
With a knee injury thwarting a professional football
career, it was through activism and illustration that
Craig found his true voice to create his ranges.
Influenced by street life in South Africa, Native is an
intelligent play on social and political realities but
  always with idiosyncratic humour.
As well as winning numerous fashion awards, Craig
has been invited by Puma to create a range of African
inspired streetwear in the lead up to the World Cup in
  South Africa in 2010.

  MERC
  Exhibiting at Margin AUG 2007
|
|
|
After their successful participation in February,
Margin is pleased to welcome back Merc which is
only fitting now that Margin is based in Soho, just
around the corner from the legendary Carnaby
  Street, spiritual home of Merc.
Established in 1967, 2007 sees Merc celebrating its
40th anniversary by mining its mod roots, not only from
the Sixties but also from the vibe of Ska and Northern
Soul, which translates to desirable reworkings of mod
staples, from sharp knitwear to swinging shirting.
Merc has developed a loyal following of musicians
such as The Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, and The Killers,
who appreciate the history behind the brand as well as
  the clothing.

  Exhibiting AUG 2007
|
|
|
Another South African label showcasing at Margin,
Los Cojones Del Perro is a new brand from Cape
Town and will be making their global debut in August.
Inspired by a dapper Bulldog called Mickey Munden,
Los Cojones del Perro rework British elements in
surprisingly innovative ways to produce a fresh spin on
key English iconography, such as the Bulldog,
Pinstripes, and the Union Jack flag.

Each unique item is customised by hand with stitching,
embroidery or beading so no two items are the same.

Los Cojones del Perro will be making their global
debut exclusively at Margin London in August 07.

  +++ MARGIN LONDON +++
MENS & WOMENS CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES
  UPSCALE STREETWEAR & DIRECTIONAL TAILORING

+++ Margin is a curated event where Editors, Stylists and buyers know
they can find great new labels season after season and don't have to
wade through hall after hall of established brands to find directional
new products to offer their readers or shoppers.

+++ Spaces are limited to appropriate brands only that have a
  directional edge and
something new to offer.

+++
Margin consistently welcomes key buyers from directional stores and
  editors
from cutting-edge titles keen to keep a step ahead of the

competition and who
know Margin is the prime location to
discover   new brands + at larger events where
mainstream brands take centre-stage
  and priority, new labels can
often be an opportunity missed.

+++ The Original and the best platform for new talent for over 5 years,
Margin was established to help new labels reach a wider buying and
press audience. Margin was created out of necessity. Retailers and Editors
travel the world looking for the next big thing but are never going to
find it at a show whose costs prohibit fresh talent. The main drive of
Margin was to establish a show where up-and-coming labels could find an   affordable and successful platform.
