KAVEL

Kavel Rafferty's new work is a modern tongue in cheek look at sexual roles. By fetishising the domestic and mundane, it explores the polarised identities available to women. The viewer feels drawn into a voyeuristic world in which they watch the intimate moments of the subjects unfold before them from a hidden vantage point. This group of eight prints, which use a domestic setting to examine sexual stereotypes, explore the idea that the ideal woman is a cook in the kitchen and a whore in the bedroom.

Kavel’s Graphics will also feature at the new underwear boutique in Top Shop’s Oxford Circus store from September. Kavel is also currently working for Top man, Levi’s, Ted Baker and The Sunday Times.
